Les Coches sits at 1,450 metres in the heart of the La Plagne ski area. While the village itself is lower than La Plagne’s highest resorts, staying in Les Coches certainly doesn’t mean limiting yourself to lower-altitude skiing.
From the village, the lift network quickly takes skiers higher into the La Plagne ski area. Plan Bois sits at around 1,800 metres, while the Bijolin sector reaches approximately 2,280 metres, providing onward access across the mountain.
Les Coches also occupies a particularly useful position within Paradiski, with access towards both La Plagne and the Vanoise Express connection to Les Arcs. This means you can enjoy the atmosphere and convenience of a traditional Alpine village while having a vast mountain ski area available from your doorstep.
For many guests, that combination is exactly the attraction of Les Coches: a welcoming village with restaurants, bars and traditional chalet accommodation, combined with easy access to extensive skiing at much higher altitudes.

For guests staying in Les Coches, this is the important point: although the village itself sits lower down the mountain, the lift network gives you access to extensive high-altitude skiing across La Plagne and the wider Paradiski area.

From Les Coches, the local lift network takes you up through Plan Bois at around 1,800 metres and onwards towards the Bijolin sector, which reaches approximately 2,280 metres. From here, you can continue exploring the extensive La Plagne ski area.
In the other direction, Les Coches is ideally positioned for access to the Vanoise Express, which links the La Plagne and Les Arcs sides of Paradiski. The crossing itself takes just four minutes.
So while Les Coches village sits at 1,450 metres, your ski day certainly isn’t limited to that altitude. You have easy access to the higher slopes of La Plagne and the wider 425km Paradiski area.

Les Coches combines the atmosphere of a traditional Alpine village with excellent access to the La Plagne and Paradiski ski areas. With its wood and stone chalets, mountain views, restaurants and welcoming bars, it feels very different from many larger, purpose-built ski resorts.
The neighbouring village of Montchavin adds even more character, with narrow streets, traditional Savoyard buildings and a genuine mountain-village atmosphere.
For our guests, this is one of the great attractions of staying in Les Coches: you can enjoy the charm and relaxed atmosphere of a traditional village, while still having easy access to the extensive high-altitude skiing of La Plagne and Paradiski.
